A Day of Fun, Laughter and Excitement
By Jenalyn Zuno-Loot
On October 23, 2013, the whole WIC Group together with its subsidiary companies went for a “FUN DAY” to the north of the country to give its whole team (workers and managers) a very exciting and memorable adventure. Credit going to Focal Magazine Manager Ms. Pazit Godlewicz for initiating this fun day for the whole WIC group, its purpose is to unite all the workers through teamwork activities and team-building exercises.
With more than 50 WIC personnel from E.P.R.S., WorldCom Finance, WorldCom Communications and Focal Magazine, the tour bus left Tel-Aviv at around 8:30am. We had our first stop at Giv’at Olga where we had our sumptuous breakfast at Beit Hankin Restaurant overlooking the breathtaking view of Kfar HaYam.
Beit Hankin is situated at the top of 82 old stairs, on the summit cliff facing the sea. It was established in the 30’s by Yehoshua Hankin, the redeemer of lands in Israel for his loving wife, Olga, who died not long after that and who did not have the opportunity to live in it. Now it is a restaurant with the hidden atmosphere of those days. The walls are decorated with original pictures of the Hankin couple. The delightful breakfast included eggs, cheeses, vegetable salads, health breads baked with whole wheat flour and grains, lemon juice, coffee and tea. It was a splendid breakfast in an awesome ambiance.
After filling our stomach with the grandiose breakfast meal the group headed to Kfar Kedem. Kfar Kedem is located in the lower Galilee, between Tiberias and Haifa, on one of the main roads of Galilee paved over a route that has served this area for thousands of years. Visiting Kfar Kedem recreates the day-to-day life of this ancient land. It gave the WIC group a hands-on experience where we enjoyed a wide variety of interactive activities.
The whole group was divided into two teams: Team Yuval and Team Hava, wherein each group was given a task that they had to fulfill. Each group experienced riding a donkey, passing all the 7 stations all the way to the Galilee Hill, as part of a team-building activity. Each team created fences and guided all the sheep into it. We learned how wool becomes cloth by shearing the sheep and spinning it into genuine wool, and also how milk becomes cheese by milking the goats to make a fresh cheese. On the process, while we were doing all these activities, we had the chance to take a peek to know more about the funny (and not so serious) side of each and everyone.
After having our very tasteful and authentic lunch (where they served Kebab, variety of salads, rice, fish and all kinds of meat) in one of the fancy restaurants beside the beautiful Lake Tiberias, the WIC Group thought that the activity in Kfar Kedem is the most enjoyable part… what we didn’t expect is that our day isn’t finished yet. Another surprise was revealed as we headed for a boat ride in the Sea of Galilee for some dancing and partying while watching the stunning sunset as we sail in the most historical lake in the history of religion. It was for 2 hours where you can only hear loud music and non-stop laughing as each of us grooved its booty on the dance floor.
From there… all is history! The Fun Day ended at around 7pm. We boarded the bus and drove back to Tel-Aviv. Everyone went home with smiles on their faces, and of course with hilarious stories to tell about their unforgettable experiences. The pictures may not justify what exactly happened there… but at least they will somehow tell the story behind this remarkable day!
Thank you WIC for another memorable experience!
